No matter how nice we try to put things, there is no denying that life is a battle. Everyday is a struggle.
However, with every struggle is a blessing. We are blessed to be alive and given the chance to make changes everyday.
People say, “live your life to the fullest”; I am here to do just that.
Hi, My name is Nadrah and this is my story.
I'm a daughter, a sister, a granddaughter, a cousin, a friend, a wife and a mother but most of all, I will always be a little girl at heart.
This blog is about my life and how I try to live it to the fullest while keeping it well balanced.

Buka Puasa at La Juiceria's Superfoods Signature

One of the toughest thing growing up is maintaining the friendship you have with your schoolmates especially when you have commitments such as work and your very own little family. However, we try really hard to make it a must at least every fasting month every year. This year, Aaina suggested that we try something healthy for a change, La Juiceria's Superfoods Signature at Bangsar.

Us!

Although it may seemed as if it was just the 4 of us, we actually had one tiny company who was fast asleep when she arrived before going on a "Wassuppppppp" mode and to "I don't want to go home" mode. Having a child of my own, I totally understand how difficult it can be to get the tiny person to take a picture with us.

Anyway, La Juiceria's Superfoods is a great place to hangout. It had this tranquil secluded vibe that you can spend quality time with whoever your company is. Aside from that, it also had a children's area so that your child can play while you catch up with your friends. Food wise, I've always loved La Juiceria's food. So, really I'm not to judge. However, for Aaina and Ely who is not used to eating healthy, they were very surprised that Healthy food can be so Yummy!

This is only a tiny fraction of our group. Nonetheless, it is always great to meet up with whoever who can. Friends are flowers that never fade. It is a blessing to still have them in my life. Love you, Honeybuns! Missing Hana (who was away in Philippines for her Romeo and Juliet Play),  Mash (who was away in Ipoh), Sara (heavily pregnant in Kuching, Sarawak) and Suzi (who was taking care of  her mom in ICU).

Sara's Farewell Dindin @ Rasta, Taman Tun Dr Ismail

It has been quite some time since I last saw my friends from my Secondary School. This time around all of us made way out of our ever so busy schedule so that we can bid farewell to our dear friend, Sara. Sara will be posted in Singapore for her job as a project engineer. Always great to spend some quality time with my girls (Aaina, Sara, Ely and Suzi). Mash, Hana and Fanna were not able to make it because all of them are away. Sure, motherhood is a great thing but some time off is also good especially with these girls.

Sara,

I wish you all the best as you embark in this new adventure. Singapore has always known as the Land of Kiasus but I'm sure you will gain a lot and enjoy it there. Take good care of yourself and stay safe. May Allah SWT protect you and bless you always..

Fajar Menyinsing Bahagian 2

What started 2 years back has now become a tradition. What am I referring to? I’m actually referring to the tradition of watching the Twilight Saga series with Tira, Sri, Dayana and Farah. We may not start at the beginning of the series but decided to make it a tradition after watching it together. After all, Twilight series is really not for guys. They would prolly fall asleep then complain after about how they wasted RM15 to watch a whole load of crap! Haha!!! Hubster vowed to never watch it again after the first movie and I vowed to never watch it with a guy. It is very nice to have something to share with your girlfriends and have it as a some sort of tradition.

Having read the series, I didn’t expect much of the movie. I was very disappointed with the book. The author have a way of having things really exciting as it was approaching to the climax of the story but then, at the peak of the climax, everything pretty much went like a dead line of a life-support machine. Of course, we love the ideology of Edward who loves unconditionally and the idea of Jacob who is oh-so macho but seriously, would there be a guy who is so selfless and is ok that the partner loves 2 person at one time; then later on is ok with the other guy being in love with his (Edward's) daughter? I mean how incest can Jacob be? First you are in love with Bella coincidentally, you’re imprinted to the daughter? LOL!
Shine Bright like a Diamond?
Owh wait! The best part, you know how they portrayed Edward sparkling like diamonds? I found the best theme song to describe that and it is none other than Rihanna’s Shine Bright like a Diamond. LOL! I planted the thought in all of their heads that when Bella was in the position where the sunlight, all of us burst out laughing. We have got to be the noisiest lot because we were pretty much laughing all the way because the show was so corny and the subtitle helps. Who would have thought that Breaking Dawn Part 2 would be translated as Fajar Menyinsing Bahagian 2?!!

Nestle's World Walking Day 2012

It has pretty much become a tradition for us to join a few walks a year as a group of friends in attempt to promote a healthier lifestyle. (Which is pretty much a good idea rather than just meeting up for drinks and gain calories). Of course some would say that might as well we just burn calories and not gain any. Well, what's important is moderation. That way, we get to enjoy life, right? LOL!

So anyway, back to the story.... Every year, Nestle will have a World Walking Day event that is organized in a few different states in Malaysia on the exact same day and the same time. Last year,  it was organized somewhere near the Putrajaya Lake where we walk along the lake and pass Pullman Resort. This year, they had in front of the Palace of Justice (exact same route as Avon's Breast Cancer Awareness Walk). Honestly, I prefer last year's venue and choice of samples given. Nonetheless, we still had fun! After all, it's the company that matters, right? A great way to spend quality time with friends.
Fresh faced Sri and I just before warming up.
Somewhere near the starting point.

Tira and I.. We were pretty much ahead from the others as our determination to burn calories was more than others. (or rather we were fueled up with excitement of what's waiting for us at the finish line... Milo from the Lorry especially.... )
Sri and Farah
6,756 steps only helps to burn 274 calories which is equivalent to 2 curry puffs?!!! Gasp! *thinking of the times when I would eat 3-4 sardine puffs at one shot*
At the finishing line!

Both Tira and I took 2 cups of Milo... Believe me when I say, if we had 4 pairs of hands, we would have taken 8 cups! Milo from the Lorry is filled with awesomeness!
With my Milo... The sun was really bright... should have brought my sunshades... Unfortunately, I don't have one... *Hint Hint to Hubster*

Group Photo! This year we were joined by Farah's little sister and their friend, Mang Mang. Nice to meet the both of you!

Ladies Night Out @ Publika

It's been quite some time since we had our ladies night out. It used to be a tradition for us where Tira, Sri and Farah will occasionally dress up and go for a fancy dinner. Kinda like those outings that Carrie Bradshaw would have with her girlfriends. However, Farah has not been joining out for the past few outings due to her commitment to Capoiera. Honestly, I really can't remember when we actually had a night out. One thing is for sure, we haven't had one in like at least 6 months. Since both Sri and Tira were born in September, we made it a must to have this long overdue night out.

Initially, we thought of trying The Estate at the Intermark. However, each one of us were stuck in heavy traffic since it was raining on a Friday evening, So really, taking a drive to KL in such a condition is a big No-No. We decided to go to Publika instead. It was my second time to Publika and I wasn't really familiar with the place. Sri had a little extra time to survey for places to go and found this new place called Magenta. They just had their official opening last week. That is how fresh the place is. We weren't really sure what to expect but the place looks pretty cozy so we decided to give it a try.

Fortunately, the food there was great and the service was above expectation. The taste of each dish was just nice and nothing was exaggerated. As Tira says it, "Cukup Rasa je sume". Since it was our first visit, we ordered a few dishes and wanted to share them. Just so that we can have a taste of everything. Upon seeing what we were doing, without questions asked, the waiter prepared 4 empty plates for us and offered them. Talk about efficiency! They were very polite and warm that we were all very pleased with the service and will definitely pay another visit.

Since it's been awhile since we had our last night out, we decided to hang out a little longer. So, we hopped to Plan B for a short drink and of course, more chit chatting. LOL!

Us @ Plan B
It is always great to catch us with these girls. There's so much to talk about and looking through the years, each of us have developed and blossomed. Sri who used to be this scrawny shy girl is now fashionable and sporty. She started to jog last year and this year, she ran 10km for the King of the Road! Farah has left interior design and pursue a career as a caterer. Mind you, her food is quite awesome ok! She's still a lot to learn but I do see a lot of potential in her. Tira now is a successful engineer in TM (Workoholic is more like it!) and yet she is able to balance social life and mind you, she is one of the best cook I've ever known! Heart you girls lots and lots!

This is my best effort trying to imitate the kitten in the picture. LOL!
Girls, can't wait to meet up again this Sunday for Nestle's World Walking Day! Muachsss!
