No matter how nice we try to put things, there is no denying that life is a battle. Everyday is a struggle.
However, with every struggle is a blessing. We are blessed to be alive and given the chance to make changes everyday.
People say, “live your life to the fullest”; I am here to do just that.
Hi, My name is Nadrah and this is my story.
I'm a daughter, a sister, a granddaughter, a cousin, a friend, a wife and a mother but most of all, I will always be a little girl at heart.
This blog is about my life and how I try to live it to the fullest while keeping it well balanced.

Real Time Zara

Zara loves to draw. The details of her drawings has evolved so much. Last night, we witnessed how real time Zara is....

She drew a picture of me wearing my sport bra post workout. Hands cannot be seen here because they were in the sink doing dishes.

Then, there was her dad, soaked in sweating while exercising with dumbbells..

Lastly, she drew herself with her hair wrapped in a towel drawing the picture....

That is a definite capture of what usually goes on in the house when it is just the 3 of us..

Why Is Nayla afraid of Dentists (According to Zara)

Yesterday, mom brought my niece to the Dentist for a quotation. Since my niece was so scared of Dentists (like her mom), the dentist spent a good 15mins trying to talk to Nayla just to calm her nerves down. However, according to my nephew, Zara did most of the talking! Haih.... Initially Dad wanted to stop her but the dentist ckp to let her talk. She asked a lot of questions and the dentist was kind enough to explain.. When the dentist asked nayla,"why are u afraid of dentist?".. Zara quickly answered," i know i know.. she is afraid of dentists Because she is scared that YOU will take all her teeth out!" She even went in to see my mom's dental surgery. The dentist siap tell her to not grow up. Senang ckp the dentist was captivated...

6 years of marriage has taught me the importance of perseverance. In the face of true love, you need to prepare for the worst and learn to love despite the bitterness that comes along with the challenges of life. A commitment to keep on fighting even if the object of your affection is begging you to give up. As my daughter, Zara Aliya says, two people who got married and have a baby must love each other and stay together. In the most difficult time in life, we must not stay away but rather still be there to support each other. Forgiveness is also just as important. In Syaa Allah time will unravel how worthy we are of second chances.

Happy Anniversary...

Maybelline's Dream Make Up Base and Satin Foundation

Recently, Guardian Malaysia had a Cosmetic Offer where most of their cosmetic products are at 50% off. So, I decided to go on a drugstore make up haul. Haha!!! Ok, maybe it is not that much of a haul. I just bought myself an everyday alternative to my Fenty Beauty (Cause really, Fenty is quite pricy for me to wear everyday). There weren't that much of a choice as I went on the last day and most of the items are sold out. Bought myself a primer and foundation from Maybelline.
Maybelline's Dream One Day Perfect Dual Protection Lasting Base  (RM49.90)
Description on the Packaging: DREAM ONE DAY PERFECT BASE The soft and smooth base protects your skin not only from oiliness, but also from dryness. Sebum adsorbing formula covers pores, and prevents skin from unwanted shine and oiliness. Moisturizing formula keeps your skin fresh, and protects the finish look all day long. SPF 18+ PA++.
Maybelline's Dream Satin Skin in shade B2 (RP: RM51.79)
Description on the Bottle: Discover the skin of your dreams with the all new Dream Satin Skin Liquid Mousse foundation by Maybelline New York. . This formula never allows the skin to clog and makes it breathable at all times.Get satin-poreless perfection.
After discount, I spent a total of approximately RM50 for both items which really is quite ok for me. Really, being a working class mom who just started to build a family and career, budget is definitely one of the main concern. Whilst I can be very thrifty, I'm one of those person who still is very much concerned of my vanity. LOL! Oh well, I try my best to be more presentable.

Clean Face #nofilter
Post Skincare and Sunblock #nofilter
With Dream 1 Day Lasting Base
Foundation on me and Maybelline's Age Rewind Under Eye Concealer
Blended! To be honest, weight-wise it really doesn't feel as if I have anything on.
Finish with a bit of Eye Liner, Blusher and Lip Color
At 10am while waiting for my conference to start..... Still very much Fresh Faced!
Around 2pm, the make up was still very much there. It only shifted a lil but still much better than others I tried.

So far, am loving it! Light weight and natural...It doesn't have this cakey finishing that cracks on your skin which is very important to me since I have sensitive and combination skin. My conclusion is, this is Definitely a Steal!

Buka Puasa at Lubuk Bangku, Bangsar

After lunch at work, there will always be this head popping in front of my cubicle asking, " You full or not? You want to have boost? star buck? Dunkin?". He is none other than my mischievous colleague, Kim Seong. Yes, he is one of the challenges that I have to lose weight. It will always be either me or Belinda who will be his victim to accompany him to trips for calories indulgence. During this fasting month, like it or not, he had to refrain himself from asking  me to follow him. LOL! Then, Belinda had a brilliant idea that we go for a buka puasa trip together and try this place she has been following on instagram called Lubuk Bangku which offers authentic malay Negeri Sembilan cuisine.

To be honest, it wasn't the first time I heard of them. My sister once invited my mom there but unfortunately the food was sold out that they had to go somewhere else. For this Ramadhan, Lubuk Bangku shares their dishes for the day ahead on instagram. We will need to book our dishes earlier. Belinda made all the arrangements and the food was all ready when we reached there at 7.10pm (Traffic was pretty bad due to the rain).

Peria Goreng Telor
Gulai Lemak Nangka
Kacang Botol Goreng
Our spread with this boy who tak puasa but over betol lapar dia.. LOL!
Overall, our bill came up to RM58.40 which is approximately RM20 per head. We were quite pleased with the food. It does have this Homecooked taste that satisfied our bellies. Just look at our happy faces after! LOL!

Buka Puasa at La Juiceria's Superfoods Signature

One of the toughest thing growing up is maintaining the friendship you have with your schoolmates especially when you have commitments such as work and your very own little family. However, we try really hard to make it a must at least every fasting month every year. This year, Aaina suggested that we try something healthy for a change, La Juiceria's Superfoods Signature at Bangsar.

Us!

Although it may seemed as if it was just the 4 of us, we actually had one tiny company who was fast asleep when she arrived before going on a "Wassuppppppp" mode and to "I don't want to go home" mode. Having a child of my own, I totally understand how difficult it can be to get the tiny person to take a picture with us.

Anyway, La Juiceria's Superfoods is a great place to hangout. It had this tranquil secluded vibe that you can spend quality time with whoever your company is. Aside from that, it also had a children's area so that your child can play while you catch up with your friends. Food wise, I've always loved La Juiceria's food. So, really I'm not to judge. However, for Aaina and Ely who is not used to eating healthy, they were very surprised that Healthy food can be so Yummy!

This is only a tiny fraction of our group. Nonetheless, it is always great to meet up with whoever who can. Friends are flowers that never fade. It is a blessing to still have them in my life. Love you, Honeybuns! Missing Hana (who was away in Philippines for her Romeo and Juliet Play),  Mash (who was away in Ipoh), Sara (heavily pregnant in Kuching, Sarawak) and Suzi (who was taking care of  her mom in ICU).

Buka @ Muhibbah

Barely Half of the Crowd

Cerita Semalam...
Thank you to my only favourite  sister for the buka puasa treat @ Muhibbah last night... LOL! Love you long time!

Belated Birthday Present from Bestie

Aaina came back from Europe and kept telling me that she wanted to pass me my Belated Birthday present. This lady is always big on gifts. I sometimes feel bad that I don't give her enough. Last year, she gave me NudeStix's Travelling Lip+Cheek Pencil Set. This year.....

Kate Spade!
Still very much in it's packaging despite being in the Plane for such long hours.
Unpacking..
Tadaa!!!! So so Pretty!!! I'm a Lucky Girl!
Despite trying my best in everything that I do, things have not been easy for me. To be honest, at times, I do feel that life is not fair. However, I've people around me who constantly go that extra mile to do something nice for me. Gifts aside, Aaina is my go to person for some girly time and distracts me from all the negativity in this life. She is one of those people who constantly reminds me how blessed I am. Love you long time, Woman! Kisses to your pipi gebu, Aaina! Muachss!!

Snippet of My Life

Service Implementation Review Meeting

Kreate Take Out @ Prince Court Hospital

Kreate Take Out

About a week before fasting month, Ezry had a surgery at Prince Court. I was not really familiar with the place as it was the first time I was there. As I was entering the hospital and approaching the lift, there was a shop right at the corner next to The Coffee Bean called Kreate. After looking at the menu, it figures that the name Kreate was in relation to the "Wok It Up" portion of menu where you can customise your order.

The Menu
Wok It Up
The interior of the place gave a some sort of an exclusive or "atas" urban vibe. It was quite clear that the shop was inspired by Chinese take out by looking at the arrangements or utensils. However, they don't only serve Asian food but also have a small selection of western food such as pasta, sandwiches and chicken.

Interior of the Restaurant
To be honest, i quite like the interior.
I decided to try the "Wok It Up" menu for lunch and selected the Jasmine White Rice with Chinese Sauce and added Salmon. Although I was tempted to try more things, I need to always remember that I'm from a working class with a daughter, there are a lot of less fortunate people around and overeating is bad for health. In another note, Dont la berangan Kaya spend banyak-banyak, Don't waste food and Don't eat more that you should unless you want to get sick. Also, nanti Gemok la! Haha! So, lets be realistic here.

Who would have thought Chinese Take Out packaging can look so good and exclusive!
Chinese Fried Rice with Fried Salmon
To be honest, I'ld give it about 6.5/10. It could just be me but I prefer Chinese Fried Rice cooked using Basmathi rather than Jasmine white rice. I could really taste the sesame oil (which is good in my opinion) and a little wet. Affordability wise I thought it was quite reasonable you know with the whole exclusive package that comes in. I really don't think you can find a Fried Rice with Salmon below RM20 in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Even the Fried Rice in Uptown Damansara now cost RM7.50 and that is a stall. Nonetheless the whole product, package and experience was definitely 'kreat-ive'. If you are ever at Prince Court, this is a definite must try place!

1st attempt using Thermomix: Cauliflower Rice

Documented my first time using the thermomix. Arrived home at 6pm sempat Asar and can masak cauliflower with the ginger sesame oil chicken. Could only document the cauliflower rice je tho as I was rushing to break fast.

Clearly, there is still a lot of room for improvement. Please excuse my mediocre work. But it's a start.. To be honest, this machine is definitely a life charger. I can already picture myself being a superwoman for still being able to cook even when I spend long hours in the office, have a daughter and can still manage a social life! Haha!!! Yes, a tad bit ambitious but that's my form of motivation to be Super!

Zara and Khyra: Cookie Decorating

Today, my niece, Nayla decided to play around with the Thermomix my mom bought for my sister and made some cookie dough. Both Zara and Khyra were ecstatic to decorate the cookies. I tried my best to document every step but it's not that easy while guiding and monitoring them. Below is the best I could do. Hopefully, I'll do better next time.

Song is called "The Baking Song" from Michelle Geller on iTunes.

Favorite Scene in Grey' Anatomy

One of my favourite scene in Grey's Anatomy was this proposal. It was right after Derek was in a very dark place and he pulled himself back together. This few minutes tells why they are together... It's sad that his character died but they are definitely one of my favourite on screen couple.

Today in History, Malaysia Has Spoken

"Most people think I should rest. Yes, I want to rest, but one after another came & asked me to do something to save this beloved country. I can't let them down" - Tun Dr. Mahathir.

At 92 years old, still with his strong will to save the country. It is a lot of work but we have faith in Tun M and Malaysia...

Congratulations Malaysia!

The people has spoken.

To a new hope for our future and the future of our children...

Polling Day

Here is a video of my #GE14 experience today on the 9th May 2018. I do not own the copyrights of the song. Song here is called "Malaysia" by Faizal Tahir.

My Favourite Make Up Brand: Tarte Cosmetics

This may be a long overdue post but about 3 days ago, I received an promotional communication e-mail from tarte cosmetics on their annual 7-pieces of make up at the price of RM280. Mind you these are full sized products that would normally cost RM925! Like this is Tarte we are talking about, they are of good quality, pigmented and suitable for sensitive skin. This reminds me of the Christmas set that my bestie gave me. It was just one of those things that I fell in love with at first sight.

The set had:
24 eye shadows (highly pigmented and suitable for EVERY OCCASION)
mascara
2 bronzer
2 blushers
1 highlighter
1 lipcolor
1 eyeliner

I was just sharing the excitement with my bestie, Tira Othman and a few days later, I received a delivery at the office!

Here is a video of me unboxing Tarte's Treasure Box Xmas 2017 Collection:

Trust me when I say that once I've gotten this set, I really don't really see the need of buying any other make up. Err, Ok well maybe primer, foundation, concealer and other lip colours.. :P If you are one of those versatile working class ladies, Tarte Cosmetics offers are always a bargain and definitely worth it!
