Another Hectic Weekend~

I've have been pretty busy last week with all the activities in hand. Last weekend was one of most eventful weekend.

Here's the agenda for last weekend:
Friday: Hari Raya Haji Celebration
Woke up early to assist Mother in Law in the Kitchen while Hubster's off for prayers.
After prayers, we had a small family breakfast with in laws.
Shortly after, we were off to my parents place where my relatives from my mother's side were and had another meal.
Mom purchased Astro's First "Untuk Tiga Hari" for RM15 (48 hours air time). - Review coming up soon~
The ladies watched the show while the men were off for Friday prayers.
Shortly after, I had to wait for Hubster to collect our portion of the sacrificed cow.
That night, we went out for dinner at Paradigm mall where my mom claimed Pandora charms as her birthday present from Uncle Majade, Aunty Gayah and Mummyang

Saturday: My mother's and Father in Law's Birthday
Woke up early again and had breakfast with in laws.
Headed to Tmn Tun and picked up stuff to Aunty Gayah's house.
Briefly set up for my mom's surprise birthday party.
Waited for my sister till 11 something when we finally gave up and went back home for a shower.
Headed back to Tmn Tun and picked up more stuff and off to Aunty Gayah's place.
Complete the set up for my mom's party.

Sunday: Nestle's World Walking Day
Woke up early again for the Walk.
After the walk, came back home and took a shower.
Lunch with in laws.
Fetched my mom and went to HomeDec exhibition at KL Convention Center where we bought a few things for our new crib.
Back to Kelana Jaya then after Maghrib Prayers, we were off for dinner at Mesra Kelana with my sister in law.

So, you pretty much can imagine how hectic my weekend was. LOL! It can be tiring having to squeeze everything during the weekend. Tonight, I'm planning to take a break from gym to save my energy for tomorrow's PT session at the gym. Wish me luck!

Ladies Night Out @ Publika

It's been quite some time since we had our ladies night out. It used to be a tradition for us where Tira, Sri and Farah will occasionally dress up and go for a fancy dinner. Kinda like those outings that Carrie Bradshaw would have with her girlfriends.However, Farah has not been joining out for the past few outings due to her commitment to Capoiera. Honestly, I really can't remember when we actually had a night out. One thing is for sure, we haven't had one in like at least 6 months. Since both Sri and Tira were born in September, we made it a must to have this long overdue night out.

Initially, we thought of trying The Estate at the Intermark. However, each one of us were stuck in heavy traffic since it was raining on a Friday evening, So really, taking a drive to KL in such a condition is a big No-No. We decided to go to Publika instead. It was my second time to Publika and I wasn't really familiar with the place. Sri had a little extra time to survey for places to go and found this new place called Magenta. They just had their official opening last week. That is how fresh the place is. We weren't really sure what to expect but the place looks pretty cozy so we decided to give it a try. 

Fortunately, the food there was great and the service was above expectation. The taste of each dish was just nice and nothing was exaggerated. As Tira says it, "Cukup Rasa je sume". Since it was our first visit, we ordered a few dishes and wanted to share them. Just so that we can have a taste of everything. Upon seeing what we were doing, without questions asked, the waiter prepared 4 empty plates for us and offered them. Talk about efficiency! They were very polite and warm that we were all very pleased with the service and will definitely pay another visit.

Since it's been awhile since we had our last night out, we decided to hang out a little longer. So, we hopped to Plan B for a short drink and of course, more chit chatting. LOL!

It is always great to catch us with these girls. There's so much to talk about and looking through the years, each of us have developed and blossomed. Sri who used to be this scrawny shy girl is now fashionable and sporty. She started to jog last year and this year, she ran 10km for the King of the Road! Farah has left interior design and pursue a career as a caterer. Mind you, her food is quite awesome ok! She's still a lot to learn but I do see a lot of potential in her. Tira now is a successful engineer in TM (Workoholic is more like it!) and yet she is able to balance social life and mind you, she is one of the best cook I've ever known! Heart you girls lots and lots!

Tama: It's Flyday!!!!!

Gillian Lee a.k.a. Baby G was not able to make it last night so she called Hubster to replace her class. Months back, Hubster choreographed a dance using Usher's Scream and decided to simplify it for the beginner's class. Unfortunately, the steps may not be simple enough as I had to struggle a little to cope (blame it on the muscle ache from my interval weight training sessions with my trainer-in denial mode). What I like about this choreography is there was a lot of those groovy moves that people used to use in dance clubs (dance clubs that play soul groovy music ok... not those remixed stuff where people look high when they dance). I guess it is pretty much doable if I paid more attention but knowing me, I'm easily distracted. The turn out was quite good. There were 8 people in the class (considering that it was a late night class 930pm-1030pm). Some of the Jiggy Monsters joined the class eventho it wasn't BabyG who was instructing. Even FizahSem who normally wouldn't go to the gym that late came just for Hubster's class. Thank you so much for your support! Both Hubster and I appreciate it very much!

Minka Kelly



Minka Kelly was famous for her role as Lyla Garrity in the TV series called Friday Night Lights. There is no denying that this beauty is much more than a pretty face. She does not have those stick thin figures that we most often see Hollywood celebrities normally portray in. Instead, she has a fit and lean figure. Being healthy gave her the natural beauty and a hot figure that rocks! Just look at her pictures. Even with minimal make up and just a white tee, Minka still look super attractive.


So, I goggled for her workout regime and diet. Self.com has a lot of informative stuff on her workout and diet plan. There is this circuit that she does which seems pretty much doable (i think! LOL!! Maybe im just being too ambitious!)

Circuit:

1.   Twister
Works shoulders, abs, butt, legs Stand with feet hip-width apart, a 5-pound dumbbell in each hand at shoulder height, palms forward. Squat, then return to standing, as you pivot left foot so torso twists to right and extend arms overhead (as shown). Repeat on opposite side for 1 rep. Do 6 to 10 reps.
2.   Big Dipper
Works butt, legs Stand with feet hip-width apart, a weight in each hand at sides throughout. Step right leg back and to left, coming into a deep squat (as shown). Return to start. Repeat on the opposite side for 1 rep. Do 10 to 12 reps
3.   All Over Toner
Works shoulders, abs, butt, legs Stand with feet hip-width apart, a weight in each hand at sides. Raise weights out to sides at shoulder height as you step left leg back into a reverse lunge (as shown). Return to start. Repeat on opposite leg for 1 rep. Do 12 reps.
4.   Ballsy Bicycle
Works abs, obliques Lie faceup, holding a 3- to 6-pound medicine ball at chest. Lift shoulder blades and legs about 6 inches off floor, then bring left knee toward chest and twist torso toward left knee (as shown). Switch sides, twisting torso to bent right knee, for 1 rep. Continue alternating in a pedaling motion. Do 12 reps.
5.   Interval Run
1 minute at 5.0
1 minute at 5.5
1 minute at 6.0
1 minute at 6.5
1 minute at 7.0
1 minute at 7.5
1 minute at 8.0
2 minutes at 4.5
Repeat five times.

"I watch Beyoncé videos while I'm working out. The dancers' bodies are so inspiring!"
7.       Embrance your Imperfection
"They are what makes us beautiful. The scar from the appendectomy I had when I was little and the one from the boogie boarding accident I had a few years ago make me unique, and I'm proud of them. That said, there are days when I have less confidence than other days. When that happens, I try to treat myself the same way I would treat my best friend—meaning, I love my friends for who they are and don't focus on their 'flaws.' So I try to do that for myself, too"
8.       Enjoy IT
"Exercise is like meditation for me. And I'm giving myself that time!"
