No matter how nice we try to put things, there is no denying that life is a battle. Everyday is a struggle.
However, with every struggle is a blessing. We are blessed to be alive and given the chance to make changes everyday.
People say, “live your life to the fullest”; I am here to do just that.
Hi, My name is Nadrah and this is my story.
I'm a daughter, a sister, a granddaughter, a cousin, a friend, a wife and a mother but most of all, I will always be a little girl at heart.
This blog is about my life and how I try to live it to the fullest while keeping it well balanced.

The Pink Hope Charity Walk 2011

Last Sunday (30th October 2011), Leo Club Damansara organized a Pink Hope Charity Walk to donation for the breast cancer society of Malaysia called "Pride". I'm a big supporter of all these charity for cancer since there is a history of cancer in my family. The purpose of this walk to is help other gain awareness about breast cancer; and provide moral and mental support to the breast cancer patients and survivors. It was a 4.3km walk around the Botanical Garden of FRIM (Forest Research Institute of Malaysia).

Upon arrival~ Me, Farah and SriHunny.
Btw, I was trying my best to check in on Facebook. Unfortunately, there was something wrong with facebook that I couldn't check in nor could I upload any photos.

The walk was good. There were stations at almost every 250m with granola bars and water. Walking in the botanical garden and passing through the reserved forest was definitely refreshing. They also offered free medical test there. Unfortunately, we were too hungry to wait and went straight to Ismail for roti canai and fried chicken. :p

Hooray is Married Yow!

Huraizi Zazili was my schoolmate who once resided at the back house where we currently operate our catering business. We were in the same primary school, tuition and the same secondary school. Initially, we weren't that close to each other. We got to know each other during the age phase where girls hate boys and vice versa. My love to bully and tease him doesn't really help. Well, being friends with him is not merely as important as knowing his mom. Why? His mom makes the most awesome awesome dessert i've ever tasted! It wasn't till after secondary school when we really started being friends. However, bullying him became a habbit. As a result, he was always forced to be my driver and treat me 'lala' at Uptown Damansara.

During his university days, one girl caught his attention and eventually they fell in love. Last Saturday was their wedding reception. The theme was pastel colors with hydrangeas. The hall was beautifully decorated and i especially loved the viking table decor.

For his wedding present, we got him a Zwilling JA Heckel sauce pan with glass cover and a Bodum earl grey tea pot.

Anyway, I would like to congratulate Huraizi on his wedding. May both him and his lovely wife have a blissful marriage. Thank you so much for the invitation!

Birthday Wishlist

*BEWARE*

This is a shameless post...

Every year, when my birthday is just around the corner (6th January), my friends will be very very frantic. Why? Because they have to really squeeze their brains in order to think of what to get me. Hihi.. Actually, I am to be blamed for this because being such a fussy pot, if I don't like the birthday gift, I will give it away. (I mean what's the point of keeping something in my room to collect dust, right? Might as well I give it to someone who needs it).

To make life easier for everyone, let me list down things I need/want:
1. Katy Perry Adidas Collection (pink with blue stripes)
2. A pair of running shoes (Size UK3 or US5 or EU35) +hiking shoes would be great too.
3. Spa treatments, you can just purchase those cheap ones at groupsmore or mydeal.
4. Sports Bra
5. Running Pouch (those I can wear when I run)
6. Water Back Pack (for Hiking)
7. Toiletries (Toothpaste, body wash, Speed Stick, Shampoo... Can help me save some money)
8. Electric tea pot for my room

TiraSuperstar will be getting me the Katy Perry Adidas Collection. You can contact her if you want to chip in.

Update on the 17th november: dayana just asked me if i'ld like to go for a choc spa.. Ahaks! ;p

Hihi..

Thank you.

Warmest regards,
The Shameless Chubby Girl

Putrajaya Night Marathon

During the fasting month, i signed up for Putrajaya Night Marathon with my friend, Farhan. Since it was supposed to be his first marathon, we signed up for 5km fun run. What he forgot to tell me then was that his birthday is on the same week. His family and friends planned a birthday celebration. Initially he was a little reluctant to let me run alone. However, i managed to convinced him that it is not worth skipping a birthday celebration for the run. Besides, i am already used to running alone. (remember my previous marathon? Adidas's King of the Road.. I ran 10km alone) Lucky me, some of my Sapura Crest friends (including my very close family friend, Abang Joune) also signed up for the run. Even though all of them signed up for a different category(10km), at least i wouldn't be so lonely.

The run was pretty cool. However, the fun run didnt get my spirits all hyped up as shortly after we started running, some of the participants already slowed down and walked. Of course, upon seeing that, my legs got heavier. I got a little lazy and took my own sweet time. I completed 5km in almost 40 minutes. :p

Dayang Nurfaizah feat Marcell 's Sayang

Masihkah kau ingat
Janji cinta kita dulu bersama
Masihkah kau rindu
Saat-saat bila ku bersamamu
Jangan kau siakan cinta ini
Janganlah hilangkan segala-galanya
Chorus
Sayang
Kau bintang yang menyinari hidupku
Kau cahayaku
Sayang
Tiada lagi yang sama sepertimu
Kau hanya satu
Percaya padaku
Cinta ini masih seperti dulu
Hatiku merasa
Segala-galanya yang kau rasakan
Tanpa kau di sisiku kini
Hidupku kan tak sama lagi
Ulang Chorus
Sayang
Jangan kau siakan cinta ini
Janganlah hilangkan segala-galanya

So, when is your turn?

It really isn’t easy being unmarried at the age of 25. Most of my cousins around the same age group are either married or going to get married real soon. Came to a point that there’ll be a wedding almost every weekend. I really love weddings. The decorations, the confession of love, the beauty of commitment and family values appeals to me. However, there is one turn off. That is when people start asking me when my turn to get married is. The pressure eats me up inside especially when my mom gets paranoid and worried that I’ll end up being a spinster. Getting older and unmarried is not exactly a fantastic feeling but I wouldn’t wanna feel as if I am being rushed into anything. Sure, Aunties and Uncles, I would love to get married, but then, only when I’ve found the right person with the right situation and reason. How would you feel if we were at a funeral and I ask, “So, when is your turn?”

I’m 25 years old and I can say that I’m pretty much trying my best to keep a good balance in life. I’m taking every chance I get to live my life to the fullest while learning and experiencing new things along the way. So, stop asking. When the time comes, you will know. ;)

If you are in your twenties and unmarried, here are some quotes to share:
“You’re single. Make the best of it. It doesn’t mean you’re not good enough for anyone, it means no one’s good enough for you.”
“Never rush in love for it never runs out. Let love be the one to knock at your door, so by the time you start to fall, you know that your feeling is for sure.”
*Cheers*

T shirt sales will be at:

If you can't make it for the run, just buy the t-shirt for charity. :)

That's what I'll do~! ;)

Tea at Bistro 42 with Tira and Sri for their Belated Birthday Treat.

You might have read Aaina's Super Belated Birthday Treat post earlier. Thing is I owed Aaina, Sri and Tira a Birthday Treat. These are 3 special people I collected throughout the years (Sri from Primary, Aaina from Secondary and Tira from my University days). I promised all three of them a meal at Bistro 42. Since Aaina is not free on weekends, I planned a seperate outting with her (hence the earlier post). Due to my super hectic schedule yesterday (Levain for Bfast with family, Wedding@DePalma at noon and dance class at 6pm), I could only fit in a short tea session.

Hope the girls enjoyed their belated birthday tea session even tho it's just for a short while~!
