Forwarded HANDBAG WARNING!!!

Subject: HANDBAG WARNING Hi all,Please be safe wherever you are. A woman visited the toilet in Curve Shopping Centre and hung her handbag on the back of the toilet door. As she carried on about her business, a hand suddenly appeared over the top of the stall and
grabbed her bag clean off the hook!!!
She immediately reported the incident to the shopping centre security & the police.
A couple of days later she had a call from the head of security to say her bag had been found without her purse. So she arranged a convenient time to go and meet him to collect her things.
On arriving at the agreed time, the head of security was not expecting her. No one from the centre had actually called her as the bag had still not been found.
When the lady got home, her apartment at Subang Jaya had been burgled with no sign of forced entry. The Police believe the robbers had used her IC for the address and her keys to let themselves in!
This is real - it isn't just a scaremongering story. Many will be so shocked at how complex bag snatching crime has become.
Please be extra vigilant ladies AND gents (with your man bags) there are a lot of desperate criminals out there!

Eh, You put on Weight Ek?

Seriously, "put on weight" is like the worse thing ever!!!!! You know how you always have guests at your house when you are about to get married? Sigh! It really sucks that the first thing they ask after asking how you are doing is whether you put on weight. Obviously, it is more of a statement than a question. It is really killing me. I've tried almost everything to lose weight. If I go any further, I would prolly be starving myself. HELP!

Green Contacts...

What say you?

Weirdest creation ever!

Sausage foldover using Roti Canai! Or rather Canai Wrap as Lai calls it! Only in the HP MiNi Mart! According to Lai, it is pretty decent. Much better than KFC's POCKIT! Lai said that it is pretty mouthing watering and good. Would you give it a try?

The 3-Step Strategy to a Flat Stomach

Something to share..
Source: Yahoo! Fitness

I've been struggling with trying to keep in shape. One of the areas of concern is my tummy. This morning, Adrian shared me this link. I though it's worth a try and thought of sharing...

If you're like most women, you've been struggling to flatten your stomach for about two decades now. Why? Because you think achieving enviable abs is complicated. Don't be fooled! If you're smart with your strategy, scoring a flat belly is actually incredibly simple. Follow these three steps and you'll have a flat belly in no time.

Step 1: Exercise

But not so fast with the crunches! It takes 250,000 crunches to burn one pound of fat. And working those muscles underneath won't matter if you still have a layer of fat covering them. Plus, crunches are one of the main culprits of back injuries, according to recent research. You won't look so good on the beach if you're bent over with an achy back. Instead, try these core-stabilization exercises to build the strong, sleek, sexy stomach `you're after:
  • Pushup: Get down on all fours and place your hands on the floor so that they're slightly wider than your shoulders. Lower your body until your chest nearly touches the floor. Pause at the bottom, and then push yourself back to the starting position as quickly as possible. If your hips sag at any point during the exercise, your form has broken down. Consider that your last repetition and end the set.
  • Plank: Start to get into a pushup position, but bend your elbows and rest your weight on your forearms instead of on your hands. Your body should form a straight line from your shoulders to your ankles. Brace your core by contracting your abs as if you were about to be punched in the gut. Hold this position while breathing deeply.
  • Hip Raises: Lie face up on the floor with your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor. Raise your hips so your body forms a straight line from your shoulders to your knees. Hold for up to 5 seconds in the up position, then lower your body back to the starting position.
Also use combo exercises, which target more than one muscle group, to get your heart pumping and ramp up your metabolism for up to 48 hours after your workout.

Step 2: De-Stress

When stress is high, a hormone called cortisol shoots up. And high cortisol levels equal high belly fat. Take at least 10 to 15 minutes a day to decompress and reduce your cortisol levels, and a flat stomach will be one less thing to worry about. Some ideas for de-stressing:
  • Slip into a hot bubble bath with lavender
  • Stretch or do yoga poses in silence
  • Write each day in a dedicated journal
  • Laugh (even if you don't feel like laughing!)

Step 3: Eat Right

Fuel your body with belly-fat burning foods that stabilize your blood sugar. These includes lots of fruits and vegetables, lean protein, and good fats. Some rules to follow:
  • Eat one to two servings of vegetables at every meal. If you eat four to five low-cal meals a day like you should, you'll rack up four to 10 servings of vegetables a day!
  • Drink lots of water. Good'ol' H2O curbs dehydration, which is easily confused with hunger. Aim for at least 64 ounces (that's eight 8-ounce glasses) of water a day.
  • Consume high-quality protein at each meal. High-protein foods take more work to digest, metabolize, and use, which means you burn more calories processing them. They also take longer to leave your stomach, so you feel full sooner--and longer.
  • Don't be afraid of fats. Eat lots of omega-3-rich foods such as olive oil, avocado, fish and nuts, which increase fat oxidation to help keep you slim (fat oxidation is the body's way of breaking down large fat molecules into smaller ones that can be used for energy).

Kak Ati's 50th Birthday

My cousin, Kak Ati turned 50 recently and her event company+family organized a birthday party for her at Acme Bar & Coffee, Troika on the 27th May 2012. The theme was black and white. The birthday girl was the only one in red. The event was well organized and the decorations were exclusively simple. They hired a really good band who played all Kak Ati's favorite songs. I would say that the music, decoration and theme blended in really well; creating a very cosy ambiance. I'm not really sure how to rate the food though. The appetizers were great but I find the main dishes rather average tasting.

Here are some pictures from the event (credits to Kak Joy and the official photographer):

Pretty, right? Simple yet lovely.

Main dishes for the night. I had the confit lamb. A little too salty for my likely. Maybe it is supposed to be like thos salt beef thing-a-ma-jig.

My mom asked what flower it is and Kak Joy told me the name. For some reason, i keep hearing it as two coulomb. Could it be because i'm thinking like an engineer? Guess the electronic engineer is still embedded in me. :p

LaSenza Special Offer

Last Saturday, 2nd of June 2012, LaSenza had a special offer. 45% off the items (with a minimum purchase of rm500) from 5pm-8pm at LaSenza One Utama. If you are a member, you will get additional 10% discount. Tira and I didn't want to miss the opportunity since both of us are in need to stock our urm.. supplies. :p We arrived there almost 7pm and were shocked to see that we had to queue. The queue was almost like the one at Zanmai sushi. Since the queue was so long, we were given a pink sticker to indicate that we were there before 8pm and entitled for the discount. The place was so crowded that we could barely move. Struggled our way around as we picked up items we desire. By 7.15pm, we were done but the queue was very long that it took us almost 3 hours to reach the cashier. Total damage was RM260 for me (for 7 items which includes pyjamas, nighties and robe) and Tira spent RM270 for 8 items. It was a great bargain but it cost us a whole lot of energy to go through the hassle and queue for that long. Nonetheless, we were very happy and enjoyed our experience. Definitely a memory to treasure.

p/s: some of the ladies there were very smart. They brought along their partners (Spouse/BF) who queue up for them while they look for their stuff. How brilliant right? ;)

To my future husband, I suppose you know what's your role during sales besides paying for my goodies. :p

The Pink Sticker!

The super long queue.
Tira who is super embarassed about our crazy crazy act. It's definitely something to remember.
The little baby wants to shop too.
Pacted with people!
Super satisfied Tira!

The 4 Weeks Challenge

Work has been really hectic for me. After Sarah's departure, I had to cope with most of the task since the other are still new and not familiar with the process. As a result, I succumb to stuffing my face with snacks and sleeping early. Guess what? I gained weight! URGH! I went for my wedding dress fitting and imagine the horror when I find out that my arms got bigger that it was a little tight. Sure, the designer kept assuring me that I'll be OK as long as I don't gain any more weight BUT that is what every designer say when deep down inside they secretly wish that you would lose some weight. So, I invested on a book called, "Tone up at home in 10 minutes" to help me get the ideal figure in 4 weeks. This is to ensure that I will at least spend 10 minutes working out every day. Other than that, my routine pretty much consist of jogging at the park, body combat at the Celebrity Fitness, spinning (rpm cycling class) and zumba toning at Sole to Soul dance studio. So far, my first week is a success. I've got 3 weeks to go and I hope that I'm able to cope with it. Sigh! Like they always say, "No Pain, No Gain!". Wish me luck! Who knows, maybe I'll get the hour glass figure just in time. :p

Plan B, Publika with Marsh and Kiera

Since both Marsh and Kiera were not able to make it to my Hen's Night, they decided to treat me at Plan B last Wednesday, 30th May 2012. It was a little awkward for me since it is Marsh's first time taking me out for a meal in a fancy place. I've never been to Publika and even Plan B even when they have an outlet in Bangsar Village.

"Marsh! Malam ini tercatit sejarah! Tak pernah you belanja I kat tempat macam ni," I expressed how surprised I was that Marsh was going to treat me.

"Takpe, Syaza........Once in a life time you kahwin. Kalau you kahwin tiap-tiap tahun. Niaya I," said Marsh, comforting me that it is not a big deal (after all, it is a once in a life time that I'm getting married. InsyaAllah)

With Marsh
Meal started with a cake called Rocky something-something. Sorry I can't bear to remember the name. We were all very disappointed with the cake.
I order the Caesar Salad

Bollywood Hen's Night witn Aaina, Tira and Sri

3 of my closest girl friends (Aaina, Tira and Sri) organized an intimate hen's night for me last Saturday. 3 others were not able to make it (Fanna's not feeling well, Farah had something on and Hana's in Boston). Owh, Mash and Kiera had to go to a family function. So, it was only the 4 of us. The theme for night was Bollywood.

Initially, they taught of getting a room in some hotel but unfortunately, it would prolly be a waste considering that I had errands to run and couldn't solely spend my time for the hen's night. So, they had it in the master bedroom of the house my mom rented for the business. They came in the evening and started decorating the place and played hindi songs in attempt to set the mood. Honestly, I think they did a great job!

Bed and the present for me!
They arrived in the evening but I was not allowed to enter the room while they decorate it. I didn't have a problem with that since I was out to deliver the invitations. The moment I arrived home, I received a call from Tira instructing me to take a shower first and that Aaina was going to make me up around 8pm. My friends worked really hard in trying to make the night perfect for me so I was a good girl and did what I was instructed.

Unfortunately, I can't post a picture of Tira who was rocking her lengha. All three of them look superbly awesome. Some pictures and videos were taken of us in our Bollywood moment. I still can't stop laughing when I watch the video of Aaina and Tira singing and dancing to an old hindi tune.

After dinner, they prepared a 9 chapter love making guidelines video on a projector Tira got. It was a very urm.. educational video for all of us. But for some reason, we were still left clueless at the end of the show (Each with mind boggling questions on whether what was shown is indeed possible). It maybe a surprise for all of you that our night ended before 12am. We were all very tired as each of us had a very hectic day. Our activities didn't end there. It was followed by a romantic movie called "The Vow" and ended with our famous weekend tradition which is breakfast at Ismail, Taman Tun Dr Ismail.

Thank you girls for the lovely lovely weekend. I had a blast! Thank you so much for making some time for me and understanding my ever-hectic schedule. Love you girls to bits!

For some odd reason, my eyes get all teary that I can no longer have impromtu lunches with Aaina, outings with Tira and weekend breakfast with Sri. I'll miss you girls so so much. I'll negotiate for at least one night out with you girls monthly k. Love Love!
