No matter how nice we try to put things, there is no denying that life is a battle. Everyday is a struggle.
However, with every struggle is a blessing. We are blessed to be alive and given the chance to make changes everyday.
People say, “live your life to the fullest”; I am here to do just that.
Hi, My name is Nadrah and this is my story.
I'm a daughter, a sister, a granddaughter, a cousin, a friend, a wife and a mother but most of all, I will always be a little girl at heart.
This blog is about my life and how I try to live it to the fullest while keeping it well balanced.

Bollywood Hen's Night witn Aaina, Tira and Sri

3 of my closest girl friends (Aaina, Tira and Sri) organized an intimate hen's night for me last Saturday. 3 others were not able to make it (Fanna's not feeling well, Farah had something on and Hana's in Boston). Owh, Mash and Kiera had to go to a family function. So, it was only the 4 of us. The theme for night was Bollywood.

Initially, they taught of getting a room in some hotel but unfortunately, it would prolly be a waste considering that I had errands to run and couldn't solely spend my time for the hen's night. So, they had it in the master bedroom of the house my mom rented for the business. They came in the evening and started decorating the place and played hindi songs in attempt to set the mood. Honestly, I think they did a great job!

They arrived in the evening but I was not allowed to enter the room while they decorate it. I didn't have a problem with that since I was out to deliver the invitations. The moment I arrived home, I received a call from Tira instructing me to take a shower first and that Aaina was going to make me up around 8pm. My friends worked really hard in trying to make the night perfect for me so I was a good girl and did what I was instructed.

Unfortunately, I can't post a picture of Tira who was rocking her lengha. All three of them look superbly awesome. Some pictures and videos were taken of us in our Bollywood moment. I still can't stop laughing when I watch the video of Aaina and Tira singing and dancing to an old hindi tune.

After dinner, they prepared a 9 chapter love making guidelines video on a projector Tira got. It was a very urm.. educational video for all of us. But for some reason, we were still left clueless at the end of the show (Each with mind boggling questions on whether what was shown is indeed possible). It maybe a surprise for all of you that our night ended before 12am. We were all very tired as each of us had a very hectic day. Our activities didn't end there. It was followed by a romantic movie called "The Vow" and ended with our famous weekend tradition which is breakfast at Ismail, Taman Tun Dr Ismail.

Thank you girls for the lovely lovely weekend. I had a blast! Thank you so much for making some time for me and understanding my ever-hectic schedule. Love you girls to bits!

For some odd reason, my eyes get all teary that I can no longer have impromtu lunches with Aaina, outings with Tira and weekend breakfast with Sri. I'll miss you girls so so much. I'll negotiate for at least one night out with you girls monthly k. Love Love!

Losing the mood to hit the gym?

Even if you don't feel like hitting the gym, just go anyways with the promise that you will leave after a warm-up and just a five minutes run. "once you get to the gym and get your blood pumping, chances are you'll finish your full workout,"says Rachel Cosgrove, author of The Female Body Breakthrough. Whoa, talk about reverse psycology!

Dry skin?

My mom is most oftenly one of those people who buys things and forgets about them 2 weeks after. Products and vitamins especially. For the first fews days, she will use/eat them religiously. As days pass by, she uses it less and less to a point she forgts about it. Same goes to the free samples she gets. One of which was a body cream from L'erbolario. Since it's been lying on her dresser for like ages and i'm at the brink of trying to to save as much money as i can yet i need to take care of my skin because i'm fetting married, I took the cream and decided to give it a try.

You see, i've always suffered from combination skin (oily and dry) yet sensitive. Sometimes, i just opt not to use anything. Big mistake! My skin turned out to be dry and wrinkly! I tried a lot of products. Vaseline didn't work. The effect was gone after 3 hours and reapplication is needed. Johnson's baby lotiin gave me a rash and so did body shop's. So, i tried on this body cream and surprise suprise! There wasn't any rash. My skin was moisturized throughout the day that i had to instantly call Tira and invited her to do a little splurging.

The salesperson let me try on a few things. Even the smell of the product was awesome! Especially those organic ones which cost a few hundred (apparently, 100% organic stuff are like super expensive). She adviced me that to keep the skin nourished and lustre, it is best to use both the body oil and cream (oil first then cream). Body oil did scare me a little considering the oily parts of my skin but their body oil is highly absorbent and does not cause any oily effect. A bottle of body oil cost me rm119. Since it was going to hurt my wallet, i just bought the body oil first. Then, just last night, my mom got me the body cream. Yeay! Now i have the two combination for soft, supple and nourished skin before my wedding! Thank you, Mama!

Something to share..

"We told you there'd be a solution to our Ben & Jerry's problem!
So what was the one thing keeping B&J from being absolutely perfect?
Jerks tryin' to steal it from us! We're talkin' family, friends -- it doesn't matter! It's ours!
Well, we don't have to worry anymore: The Euphori-Lock is here!
Here's what the company said:
"This delightfully tongue-in-cheek concept actually came from one of our customers, who suggested we start selling our ice cream in stainless steel containers with little padlocks on them.”
LOLz! How fun!
The contraption is a two-part plastic security ring that slips around your pint's upper lid. All you have to do is remember your code when you want to dig in!
Perfect! Now if we could just remember our code... ha!"

Now this is a BRILLIANT IDEA! Now, if only they can create one for my Flakes box. It keeps on getting lesser day after day. Not that I don't appreciate it when people help me to eat my chocolates, but there's only 3 left in the box! (There were at least 10 last week!)

Something to share

In 5 weeks, I will be a wife. Honestly speaking, I do have mixed feelings. Sure, most of my days are spent wisely for the wedding preparation but deep down inside, marriage scares me. It is not only a commitment but it is a very important role. I will be his  Queen and by marrying me, he promised to God that he will bear all my sins and take care of me. Thinking that all my actions will affect the person I love did not give a good feeling. I'm sure no one wants to hurt the person they love nor would they want to be the reason for their spouse to go to hell. Nowadays, divorce and infidelity are common.

These are the questions that were asked to me:
  1. Are you sure that he is the one?
  2. What about the mistakes he did in the past?
  3. Can he make you happy?
  4. Will your marriage work?
  5. He is quite a wanted guy. Are you sure that he will stay loyal?
  6. What if you won't get the happiness you wanted?
  7. What if you could have gotten a better spouse?
  8. What will you do when a girl tries to steal him away?
  9. What if he gets rich and leaves you for a younger woman who is hot?
  10. What if he enslaves you after marriage?

As much as I can doubt him, he too can doubt me. Nobody's perfect. I, too have flaws and made mistakes. However, these challenges are not exactly disadvantages. They actually teaches us valuable life experience and lesson. Honestly, I hope for the best. Just like everyone, I am looking for a companion. Love is a gift. Sure, there will be risks but you wouldn't know the result unless you try. We only have our good faith and hard work to make a marriage work. InsyaAllah, I will find my happiness.

Today, I found this page on Facebook called "Happy Muslim Husband and Wife" that shares motivational words and stories to encourage a healthy and happy marriage. I read a few things and was so inspired that I had to share it. If you too are heading down the aisle and have wedding jitters, you should take a look at the facebook page. I hope it will help you as much as it is helping me right now.
